First off – thanks for visiting my page! If you’re looking for a place to be inspired, informed, and to learn simple steps to take action than you’ve come to the right place!
I’m sure you’re wondering who I am and what I do, so let’s start there. I am a registered dietitian with a holistic approach to wellness. I emphasize the holistic approach piece because I feel that in my practice I do a LOT more than nutrition. In my consulting practice, sometimes I don’t even talk about it at all! Nutrition is so much more than learning about what to eat. You’re in for a wake-up call if you think nutrition is just about the amount of fat or calories in the foods you eat. I’ll be gentle, I promise.
I love getting down and dirty and talking about restorative sleep, efficient exercise, whole foods nutrition, stress management, the psychology of food, and the importance of social connectedness. Ladies, we all need to work on these pieces to reach goddess status.
In addition to being a registered dietitian, I have a master’s degree in nutrition and health promotion, a certification in holistic wellness, and a personal training certification. These educational opportunities have helped me understand the complexities of health and how to make the science practical to the public. I’ll do the digging in the scientific studies and bring it back to you in a pretty package, so you can just sit back, relax, and become even more brilliant. 🙂
I see patients locally and around the world through phone and Skype consults. Can I mention how fun it is to talk to someone in Brazil or Australia about nutrition!? When I work with my clients I put on a detective cap and figure out what really is holding them back. Sometimes we aren’t aware of barriers that are preventing us from making change. It’s my goal to work with clients to break down those barriers and make sure your environment, attitude, and behaviors help your rock your mission.
I also am an instructor for Stroller Strides!! I absolutely love working with busy moms who want to maintain their fitness and health. It’s such an amazing opportunity for moms to workout WITH their children and be role models!
My FAVORITE thing to talk/learn/write about is women’s health focusing on fertility issues, optimizing health during pregnancy (yay babies!), and supporting women through their transition into menopause. Of course, I still love talking to guys, athletes, precious grandparents, and others, but women are kind of my thing.
